#3: Excellence

Crossroads strives to be a ministry that is excellent. One of the biggest things that you will hear now all the way until the final day of clean up is EXCELLENCE. Excellence for us means attention to detail now (employment paperwork, CPR and First Aid training, reading and responding to staff emails, etc), being “all in” during staff training, showing up on time, and working with joy and energy throughout the entire summer in everything that you do. We not only desire for you to do your jobs right but also to have an attitude of Christ each time, maintaining the same level of quality as the very first day you arrive at Camp! We don't want you to just have a great first week of Camp; we want you to have six great weeks of Camp!

One thing you will notice at Camp is that you will quickly develop a routine and pattern for each day and week. You will be hearing the same sermons, leading the same activities, and hanging out in the same dorm for the whole summer. The students will change each week, but your responsibilities will not.

Our hope is that you will remain excellent in the little things even when you are tired of doing them.

We know the mundane tasks become repetitive, but we expect your attention to detail to remain consistent. One reason we hired you to work on Crossroads staff is that we trust that you can be a person committed to excellence, even when it's tough, even when it seems boring, and even when no one notices.

What can you be doing now to practice excellence in the “mundane”? How are you finishing out your semester at school?  Are you still staying on top of papers, classwork, etc? Are you showing up on time to class (or showing up at all)? How about your time in the Word? Are you being disciplined to remain in the vine even when things get busy? Be excellent in all you do! We know a common theme among college students can sometimes be that being careless is cool, but we promise it’s not!

We’ll say it again, BE EXCELLENT IN ALL YOU DO!

SOME THINGS TO PRAY FOR:

Pray for perseverance through the mundane.
